Better Block Austin: 12th & Chicon

We're teaming up with the Return + Discover Festival for the launch of Better Block Austin! On April 15, we're transforming the 12th + Chicon intersection with the help of East 12th Street Merchants' Association.

The Better Block is a nationwide movement that seeks to educate, equip, and empower communities and their leaders to reshape and reactivate underutilized corridors and neighborhoods.

We're sponsoring a makers market and will be transforming a vacant lots into a pop-up park,!  Be on the look out for an upgraded Capital Metro stop, business facades and signage, live mural painting, sidewalk artwork, new neighborhood programming, expanded food truck park and so much more. ...And it wouldn't be East Austin without live music!

Free to attend, so please support our participating creatives!
